In mid-November 2018, Fido Canada updated its software update page with details of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro update to Android 9 Pie, where the OS was expected to arrive by December.
Usually, keeping software release date promises can be hard, which is why it doesn’t surprise us that Fido has once again updated its software page with new details. Apparently, the Pie update for some Huawei P20 and P20 Pro users has been put on hold.

The carrier doesn’t say anything as to why the update has been halted, but usually, such moves are probably due to a bug discovered in the software.
The fact that Fido hasn’t said why it halted the update makes it even more difficult to know when it will begin rolling out. Hopefully, the carrier will put forward a statement addressing this development.
Huawei P20 and P20 Pro users across the globe already received the update to Android 9 Pie, which means this hitch makes Canada among the last major markets to get the update. With that said, we hope things will be back to normal sooner rather than later.
