Facebook, the social media joint has today announced that its Instant Games on Messenger are now available to all the 1.2 billion users who use the app on a monthly basis.
Also, the company has added new features such as rich gameplay and game bots which were previewed to developers exclusively at its annual F8 conference.
The company claims that these new features will allow developers to create “unique and sophisticated experiences” while game bots are expected re-engage players.
It further says that turn-based gaming has been one of the most requested features by users and the addition of rich gameplay feature will help cater to these needs. Also, this will allow developers to integrate leaderboards and tournaments thereby making the entire experience more engaging.

Game bots, on the other hand, will either notify about new game options or encourage you.
Zynga’s Words With Friends is one of the first few games to utilize the new rich gameplay feature rolled out by Facebook. Whereas, the Blackstorm’s EverWing is the first title to use game bots.
These new features on Messenger’s Instant Games will be pushed to both iOS and Android handsets worldwide in the next few weeks.

awesome update!! love to play those games once in a while!!
FB has officially redesigned Messenger to be more than a messaging platform since years. First they implemented the calling feature and video calls too. Now more recently with the Instagram stories like feature added and now a lot of this gaming support, which smartly integrates messaging and gaming, messenger’s transformation is very huge.
I like the idea of releasing the rich gameplay feature and gamebots and allowing the developers to utilise it. Really smart way of ensuring quality and uniformity across most games.
