The Galaxy Note 2 – no doubt one of the most hotly anticipated Android devices right now, with many waiting to get their hands on the bigger and more powerful successor of the original Note – will be officially announced at this year’s IFA conference this year in August, with a release coming two months later in October, according to MK News.
The screen size will be bumped up to 5.5″ from the 5.3″ in the original Note and probably have the rumored resolution of 1680×1050, but it will not feature the “unbreakable plane (UBP) display technology, a precursor to the flexible display. UBP will most likely be applied for the next product released after Galaxy Note 2.” Not that we were expecting a flexible display to happen any time soon, but still, sad to see it being delayed even further. The processor powering the device will be a quad-core processor, no doubt the same Exynos chip that powers the Galaxy S3.
Last but not the least, Samsung is also considering bumping up the megapixel count on the camera to 12 or 13 megapixel from 8 megapixel. All in all, the Galaxy Note 2 is shaping up to be a great device that will probably go head to head with the Galaxy S3 in popularity when it gets released.
