Hoping for Marshmallow update on your Verizon Droid Maxx? Well, save yourself the pain buddy, it’s not going to happen. Verizon hasn’t even delivered the Lollipop update yet for the Droid Maxx, the question for Marshmallow should not even exist.
That said, it doesn’t mean you can’t get Marshmallow update on your Droid Maxx. You’ll still be able to get custom ROMs based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s source code, which Google will release shortly after the official announcement of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Sept. 29th.
Keep an eye for CM13 Marshmallow update for your Droid Maxx to get a taste of Android Marshmallow release on the 2-year-old device.
CM13 is expected to be available by mid-October 2015, and if Droid Maxx is lucky enough, it should get a working CM13 build by the end of 2015.
Droid Maxx CM13 ROM will probably be your only pass to get the Marshmallow update on the device.
