A lot of Android 5.1 ROMs have been coming up lately, mostly based on either CyanogenMod 12.1 or AOSP. And as is the case with all AOSP based ROMs, you’ve to install Google services separately from recovery alongside the ROM as a package called Gapps.

Gapps packages consists of Google apps that usually comes pre-installed on all Google certified Android devices. But since these packages are custom made, you get the freedom to choose between a variety of package sizes. Some are bare minimal and some are over packaged, but they all serve the purpose — enable Play Store and other Google services on devices running AOSP based ROMs.

Android 5.1 Gapps packages also come in various sizes, from various developers with different number of apps in each package. Choose the most suitable package as per your need from the packages mentioned below.

Android 5.1 Gapps (Smallest package)

A bare minimal package with only the most needed Google apps. It can’t get smaller than this.
