AT&T has been in an agreement with Discovery Communications for the distribution of their content for a long time now. Even though AT&T’s U-verse is now replaced with AT&T TV, services for existing U-verse TV customers are not impacted in any way.
However, with the launch of Discovery Plus, things have become a little confusing for those who still have U-verse TV. Many are hoping they will be able to get the contents of Discovery Plus through their AT&T U-verse. But is that even possible? Let’s find out.

Discovery Plus is the latest streaming service to join the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, and many more, riding the latest wave of on-demand media content that is constantly breaking upon us. Launched on 4th January 2021, it brings all of Discovery Inc’s expansive list of networks and tons of shows under a single roof.
But it isn’t your run-of-the-mill streaming service. Being Discovery’s proprietary, Discovery Plus’ offerings are widely different from that of other streaming services, replete with stirring documentaries, popular lifestyle shows, and real-time entertainment.
What does Discovery Plus include on U-verse?
Those who are subscribed to the services of AT&T’s U-verse are used to getting a host of Discovery’s networks as a part of their U-verse TV package. Although there’s comprehensive coverage of Discovery’s networks on AT&T’s U-verse, it doesn’t include the whole of Discovery’s catalog. Future Discovery Plus originals and networks may not be available, including the Magnolia Network and The Dodo, since they’re meant just for Discovery Plus.
What is Discovery Plus Channel on U-Verse?
Discovery Plus is a streaming service that lets you stream and watch on-demand content on Discovery Plus compatible devices. It is not a separate channel that you can get as a part of your AT&T U-verse package. You can, however, subscribe to a Discovery package through U-Verse and select the Discovery networks that you wish to watch.

But Discovery Plus cannot be on U-verse for the simple reason that it is a web-based platform that houses all of Discovery’s contents under a single roof.
If you decide to get the Discovery Plus subscription, you will not lose any programming that is part of your U-verse package. You will, however, get additional Discovery networks and content that are not included in your U-verse package.

You can get Discovery Plus for free as well, or cancel your subscription if it doesn’t float your boat. Discovery Plus is available on many smart TVs, as well as mobile devices, so that’s a big plus right there.
Connect your PC with HDMI to get Discovery Plus on your TV
If you have an HDMI cable, you can connect your PC to your TV and watch Discovery Plus shows on the bigger screen. Once connected, simply select your TV from your PC’s display settings. Now, you can fire up Discovery Plus in your browser and have the shows displayed on your TV.
Cast Discovery Plus to your TV
Discovery Plus is compatible with some smart TVs and Xbox devices and can be installed as a native app on them. But if you don’t have either one, you can still use third-party peripherals that are supported by Discovery Plus.
Fortunately, most popular peripherals are compatible with Discovery Plus, including the likes of Roku, Amazon Fire devices, Google Chromecast, and Apple TV. All you need is your mobile phone or your PC and make sure it is connected to the same Wi-Fi that your peripheral is connected to.
Now, open up and play Discovery Plus content on your mobile or PC, click on the Cast button, and select your peripheral from the list of devices. This will connect the two and you will be able to watch Discovery Plus on your TV.
