How it ends
You finish with a tutorial explaining that Reach has limited range and that you can use Double-Jump and Dodge to move into range. Your next objective is to help Jesse complete the ritual.
Clear the building and start The Subway Fault
Inside, the fight moves from the flooded chamber into warehouse corridors lined with shipping crates and scaffolding. Dodge the heavy creatures’ claws and projectiles; aerial strikes and club attacks are both demonstrated against the armored creatures as the fight continues through the chamber. Smaller enemies can supply health when you need it, so you can leave them alone otherwise.
Beyond the opening, the route passes concrete stairs and an exterior walkway before dropping toward the street intersection. The quest log places The Subway Fault beneath Search for Jesse; its first objective sends you into the subway.
Cross the subway tunnels and open the route
The tiled route descends through shafts to a lower railway corridor, then continues past metal doors and along the tracks. At the overhead train, wait for it to pass before moving forward. Farther in, a cracked wall opening drops into a train cavern with green vapor and heavy, tentacled creatures. Dodge their claw swipes and use melee attacks to clear that encounter before following the cavern passages and arched tracks onward.
Find Jesse inside the Fault
The lower fight takes place around elevated ledges. Past it, damaged subway passages lead to the long yellow-lit approach and the Fault entrance. Inside, yellow grass and suspended railway pieces lead past a derailed train toward Jesse’s platform.
The Subway Fault awards Reach after the conversation with Jesse. When Reach / Received appears, the unlock is complete even though Help Jesse Complete the Ritual is the next objective.
Use Reach on glowing grapple points
Reach pulls Dylan toward glowing grapple points around Manhattan, including points on rooftops, buildings and ledges. It helps you move between buildings, cross large gaps and reach difficult city areas; immediately after the unlock, you can use it to climb platforms and cross floating islands. Grapple pulls can also carry you up shafts toward the city.
Those glowing points have finally earned their place in the scenery.
