Dismissing a past rumor citing global release date of Galaxy S8 being April 28th, a new report flowing straight from Korea confirms April 21st as the global launch date of the flagship smartphone. The report also lays down the Galaxy S8 road map, right from its unpacking event to its sales reservation and pre-order dates for buyers.
Samsung will first unveil Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus at multiple city events in New York and London on March 29th. This will be followed by opening pre-orders from April 7th to 17th. Finally, on April 21st the S8 will be released globally and will be up for grabs.
There’s hardly a day which passes by without a Galaxy S8 leak or rumor. So much so that we know almost everything we need to know about it. This makes us wonder what WOW factor will Samsung come up with on the March 29th unveiling and global release of April 21st to keep us glued on to it and maintain the hype that has been created around the high-end bezel-less smartphone.
Galaxy S8 will come in two variants- standard S8 model with 5.8-inch AMOLED display and the S8+ model with 6.2-inch display. It will rock the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Under the hood, S8 will pack in 4GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB internal storage expandable via microSD. To support the incredible hardware and latest software, we will find a 3,000mAh battery on board. On the imaging front, S8 will rock 12MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing camera.
Other features which set the Galaxy S8 apart from other devices are face scanner, front iris scanner, AI Assistant Bixby, DeX Station, first ever aspect ratio of 18.5:9, 8-point battery safety check and Samsung Level In ANC wireless headphones with Active Noise Cancelling feature. There will also be a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and IP 68 certification making it water and dust proof.
