Chinon USA announced a new 10″ Android tablet earlier this week — The Swift-10. Priced at $279.99, the tablet features a Cortex A8 chip clocked a 1.2 GHz, 8 GB of internal storage, upto 32 GB of expandable memory through microSD, 1GB DDR3 RAM and dual 2 MP cameras . But here’s the strange part — it runs Gingerbread. One would think that with almost every new slate being launched this year coming with Ice Cream Sandwich, this should have at least run Honeycomb, but Gingerbread seems to be a rather disappointing choice.
The Swift-10 also features a 1024 x 768 IPS display on a 9.7″ touchscreen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It weighs 245 x 190 x 11mm with a weight of 669 grams and has an 8000mAh Li-polymer battery with a high-quality aluminium back cover. The Swift-1o is available on the Chinon USA website, if you want to order one.
So do you think this is a good option to the bevy of Android slates out there? Would you consider getting one of these over a Kindle Fire? Share your thoughts and opinions with us in comments below.
