The Xiaomi Mi 6 is now official, and it is beast of a smartphone that is totally worth the money. For $360, you get a smartphone that’s pretty much in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
Xiaomi has included a dual-camera setup on the Mi 6, and it can take some really good shots. The setup features one 12MP wide-angle lens that features 4-axis optical image stabilization. There is another 12MP telephoto lens that provides 2X loss-less zoom.

The camera also allows you to take portrait photos, with depth of field, so it looks like photos are taken from a DSLR. Software enhancements such as a Beautify and Natural color correction allow for great and natural looking photos. Both the front and rear cameras have the Beautify mode to make your selfies look the best.

the shots seems promising with great amount of details in the day shots as well as the low light shot in the stadium with artificial lighting thank to the new 12MP camera with larger than before a F/1.8 aperture!! the portrait shot is impressive as well, almost as good as iPhone 7 plus, if Mi6’s camera really perform this well in real life then this phone can stop the hassle to find a great camera smartphone under 350$!!

From what I have seen of normal pics from regular users, the camera on this beast is even better than iphone7’s and just a small toe behind S8, Pixel and iphone7+. From a company who I used to say makes very good value for money phones, but whose phones took rubbish pics, this has been nothing short of extraordinary. I would buy the Mi6+ version when its made available.

Lovely pictures. Especially the stadium. Suggests a great depth of field and amazing post image processing. But I suppose these are samples provided by Xiaomi themselves?
They will be accurate but I think they will be a little too idealistic for us. We should wait for pictures taken by a layman of usual everyday things rather than amazing places and subjects.
