ChatGPT Pro now comes in three tiers: Pro 100, Pro 200 and a new Pro 500. OpenAI added the $500 plan at DevDay on September 29, 2026. The same day, it reopened Pro 200 sign-ups, which had been paused since September 10, and halved Pro 200’s usage: straight away for new subscribers, and after October 29 for existing ones.

Prices in other regions are set locally, so the gap between tiers depends on where you pay.

These are the prices on chatgpt.com. UK, Europe and India prices include VAT or GST, and US prices are before sales tax. The euro price is the same in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Austria and Finland. Paying through the App Store costs slightly less in the UK and Europe: Pro 100 is £88.90 or €102.99 there (listed as ChatGPT Pro 5x), and Pro 500 is £444.99 or €509.99 (ChatGPT Pro – Max Usage). There’s no annual plan, and you can’t prepay several months.
How much usage each Pro plan includes
OpenAI describes each plan by how much usage it includes compared with Plus. ChatGPT Work and Codex draw on the same allowance. OpenAI’s Thibault Sottiaux (Tibo) set out the new ratios on September 29: Plus is 1x, Pro 100 is 5x and Pro 200 is 10x. The DevDay recap puts Pro 500 at 25 times the Plus allowance.

None of the Pro plans has a five-hour limit in Work and Codex, so you can use your weekly allowance at whatever pace you like. Plus still has one. Tibo says OpenAI won’t bring the five-hour limit back.
GPT-6 Pro in chat has its own limit, separate from Work and Codex, and it isn’t unlimited on any tier. On Pro 100, GPT-6 Pro and GPT-5.6 Sol Pro share one weekly allowance. On Pro 200, ChatGPT switches to GPT-5.6 Thinking at Medium once you use up the weekly GPT-6 Pro limit.
What every Pro plan includes
The tiers share the same core features, and Pro 500 adds Ultrafast and the Agents API with computer use. OpenAI’s pricing and help pages list these for every Pro tier:
Every Pro tier, Pro 100 included, also gets a dot, OpenAI’s always-on personal agent, in eligible markets. The Next Web reports that dots aren’t coming to Pro users in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK for now. Your first dot costs nothing extra, and chatting with it doesn’t use up your ChatGPT limits. Tasks it starts in Codex or ChatGPT Work do count. Pro also gets several other DevDay features: ChatGPT Space, Pages, Codex Security Cloud and the Meetings plugin (beta, macOS desktop app). Plus and Pro can also use their allowance in 16 partner tools through Sign in with ChatGPT.
What Pro 500 adds: Ultrafast and computer use for agents
Ultrafast is OpenAI’s premium speed tier. GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast generates tokens up to 8x faster than Standard in Codex, up to 300 tokens per second. You pick it in the model picker in ChatGPT Work and Codex. GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast is coming soon.
Pro 500 is also the only Pro plan with the Agents API with computer use in Codex and ChatGPT Work. Enterprise is the only other plan that gets it.

Ultrafast uses up your allowance quickly. If you ran all of Pro 500’s 25x allowance in Ultrafast, it would stretch only about as far as 3x Plus at Standard speed. Once the included usage runs out, Ultrafast draws on your credits. At launch, buying credits doesn’t unlock Ultrafast on Pro 100 or Pro 200.
What changed for Pro 200
Pro 200 is the plan that changed most at DevDay. It went from paused to reopened with half the usage in under three weeks.
Tibo explained the pause on September 10. Pro 200 subscriptions “put the most strain on our systems” during the demand for GPT-6 Astra. Existing subscribers weren’t affected. On the eve of DevDay he wrote that the reopened plan “will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan”. He added that models keep getting more efficient, so subscribers will still get more work done than a month earlier.

OpenAI’s email to existing Pro 200 subscribers confirms that the new limits start on October 30, 2026. The email also gives each of them a one-time grant of 62,500 usage credits, worth $2,500. The credits show up in Settings → Usage and expire on December 31, 2026.
To keep the old allowance through October 29, your Pro 200 subscription must have been active at OpenAI’s eligibility cutoff or in the seven days before it. If it lapsed in those seven days, you get the old allowance back by resubscribing. After that date, grandfathered subscriptions move to the new allowance at the same $200 price. OpenAI emails only the subscribers this affects. Keeping the old allowance doesn’t turn Pro 200 into Pro 500, and it doesn’t add Ultrafast.
What 1x of Plus usage costs on each plan
Dividing each plan’s price by its multiplier gives the cost of one Plus-sized allowance. In the US it works out to $20 on every plan, from Plus to Pro 500. Before the change, Pro 200 cost $10 for each 1x.

Outside the US, the cheapest tier depends on the region. In the UK and Europe, Pro 200 and Plus cost the most for each 1x, and Pro 100 and Pro 500 cost the least. India is the other way around. There, Pro 200 is the cheapest per 1x, and Pro 100 costs more than Plus for the same amount of usage.
Which ChatGPT Pro plan fits your use
The choice comes down to three things: how often you run out of usage, whether you need GPT-6 Pro in chat, and whether speed matters enough to pay for Ultrafast.
1xPlus
OpenAI pitches Plus for “a few focused coding sessions each week”. It has GPT-6 Astra in Work and Codex, but no GPT-6 Pro in chat, no dot and a five-hour limit.
5xPro 100
The cheapest personal plan with GPT-6 Pro in chat, a dot and no five-hour limit. It’s the step up from Plus when Plus limits run out.
10xPro 200
For when 5x runs out before the week does. It’s also the only Pro plan with a grandfathered allowance.
25xPro 500
The most usage OpenAI sells to individuals, and the only personal plan with Ultrafast and the Agents API with computer use. OpenAI pitches it at people who want “even more usage and speed”.

What happens when you hit a Pro usage limit
Hitting a limit doesn’t end or restrict your subscription. The model you hit the limit on may stay unavailable until its allowance resets, and ChatGPT shows the reset time when it can. You can switch to another model in the meantime.
In Codex, ChatGPT Work and the Office apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), you can keep going on credits. Your included usage is always used first. You buy credits from Settings → Usage, and they stay valid for 12 months. Credits don’t add usage for every model or feature. Depending on your billing country, Plus and Pro accounts can also buy an instant reset that refreshes the Work and Codex allowance right away.
FAQs
Can OpenAI Support reset my Pro usage limits?
No. Support can’t reset ChatGPT or Codex limits. It can check whether usage was counted incorrectly or whether access failed to come back after a reset.
How do I cancel ChatGPT Pro?
Cancel on the platform you subscribed through: ChatGPT, Apple or Google Play. Uninstalling the app doesn’t cancel the plan, and you normally keep access until the end of the billing period.
Can I keep Pro if I join a ChatGPT Business workspace?
Yes, as long as you keep your personal workspace separate. Merging it into Business changes how your subscription is handled.
Does Pro 500 include more than one dot?
Not yet. OpenAI says you’ll be able to add more dots in the future, and to scale how fast each one works or how much it can take on per month.
