There was a time when the idea of a free-to-play cross-platform and cross-progression game like Spellbreak would not be feasible. Yet, here we are in 2020 looking at a gaming developer like Proletariat in their efforts to not just create but also normalize the idea of games that will be available across platforms. But the democratization of gaming is still a fairly expensive affair and one of the major ways that Spellbreak can earn is when players invest in the game’s currency, Gold.

How to get Gold on Spellbreak

Gold can be earned by winning battles at the rate of 50 gold per match. However, if you’re in a hurry to get that skin that you liked in the Game’s shop then you also have the option of purchasing Gold from the Gold Store in Spellbreak or as an add-on from the console’s store by using real money.

Can you redeem gold in Spellbreak from one platform to another?

One of the biggest perks of Spellbreak is that all progress in the game is saved across different platforms so if you play a game on your PC and Nintendo Switch, you’re returning to the latest progress that your breaker has made regardless of the console/device that you’re using.

Unfortunately, despite the cross-progression aspect, the gold that you purchase on one platform is non-transferable to a different one. All consoles/platforms explicitly state that any gold that you purchase from a specific console cannot be used on another platform. We reckon the reason this happens is that your payment is not made to the game but rather to the console manufacturer’s store which acts as the middle man in the entire process. This is also why there is a price difference in the Gold package prices across platforms.

Is there a solution?

Only the Gold is not transferable, anything you purchase using that gold will be implemented across platforms whether it’s an artifact or a skin. So we recommend that you keep one primary platform from which you will spend on Gold and purchase whatever you like in the game unless you’re cool with spending on different consoles.
