If you weren’t aware of BLU already, they make decent Android smartphones for affordable prices, albeit a far step away from the flagships of today. The VIVO 5R Refresh features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, the octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset and a 3150mAh battery to keep the lights on. There’s also a fingerprint scanner on the back.
A 13MP main shooter and an 8MP selfie camera should be sufficient for your photography needs. With 32GB of storage, you will be left with plenty of space to install a good majority of the popular apps & games and storage is also expandable via microSD.

The only drawback here is that the smartphone comes with Marshmallow out of the box. This is surely disappointing as we should have seen an update to Nougat by now at least. But BLU hasn’t been forthcoming about update cycles anyway. So, if you’re okay with using a Marshmallow device as your daily driver, the VIVO 5R Refresh is a good catch for $169.99.
