BlackBerry KeyOne launched in Malaysia for RM 2688

Online Malaysian retailer, DirectD, is offering a pretty sweet deal on purchase of the BlackBerry KeyOne. As of now, the device can only be pre-ordered and on doing so, you are eligible to receive the JBL T450BT Wireless on-ear headset for free! The BlackBerry KeyOne is priced at RM 2688 or roughly $625.

The KeyOne is a spectacular device, though BlackBerry has been having a very tough time with sales for quite a while now. The device features top-notch specifications and the classic BlackBerry keyboard. The 4.5-inch display is a far step away from today’s flagships, but the resolution comes to 1080 x 1620 pixels, making up for the size. The keyboard, this time, isn’t tucked away in a sliding panel and is shown off in all its glory.

BlackBerry has built in loads of functionality into keyboard. Instead of leaving it as bunch of buttons taking up half the space, the keyboard also works as a trackpad which can be used to read pages without blocking the screen with your fingers. The space bar acts as the fingerprint scanner and you can also swipe on the keyboard to type and correct words.

The KeyOne features 3GB of RAM, the Snapdragon 625 processor and a 3505mAh battery. The device has a 12MP rear shooter and an 8MP selfie camera. The camera built into the device is capable of taking great pictures. The rear shooter has the Sony IMX378 sensor, which is the same one found on the Google Pixel. Need I say any more about the camera?

Considering the price of the device, RM 2688 or $625 seems to be more for the BlackBerry brand than for the specs it packs in. Nevertheless, this is an excellent device with solid build quality so there’s basically nothing to lose here.
