AT&T is currently rolling out new software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active and the Galaxy S7 Active. Both these rugged smartphones are getting the update over-the-air in the US.
The update is a minor one and brings some changes and improvements to the device. With the Galaxy S8 Active update, the phone now supports Mobile Hotspot APN and HDR API for DirecTV. You will also see improved network performance. Apart from that, there are several bug fixes, patch for the BlueBorne exploit, and the November Android security patch will also be installed.

The Galaxy S7 Active update also includes the November Android security patch, and fixes for the BlueBorne and KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerabilities. Once again, there are other bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements.
The software build number for the Galaxy S8 Active is G891AUCS2BQK4 and for the Galaxy S7 Active, it’s G892AUCU2AQK3. On the Galaxy S8 Active, the update can weigh between 370MB to 401MB, whereas the S7 Active update only weighs about 37MB.
Samsung Oreo update release date
Samsung has still not delivered the Android Oreo updates for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The company is still beta testing the update, and we can expect it to be released in January 2018.
