AT&T has released a new software update for the Nexus 6 that installs the latest Android security patch. The update is a minor one and is based on Android 7.0 Nougat, which was delivered to the device only recently on December 6. It installs the December Android security patch on the Nexus 6, which means it is a recommended update.
The software version is NBD91U, weighs just 28MB in size and is for the AT&T Nexus 6 only. This update is just meant to install the latest security patch and doesn’t bring any new features with it. AT&T also recently released updates for the LG G4 and the LG V10.
Although Google has already released Android 7.1.1 for the latest batch of Nexus and Pixel devices, the Nexus 6 hasn’t got it yet. Late last month, we discovered that the Android 7.1 update was being tested on the Nexus 6. However, now that Android 7.1.1 is out, the Nexus 6 should soon get the update.
Android 7.1.1 brings several of the Pixels features to the Nexus line-up, including the Nexus 6. The roll-out for Nexus 6 could start in the coming few days, but it is definitely getting the update.
