AT&T today released a new software update for its LG V20, which comes as build H74020g. The build is based on Android Nougat, which the device comes pre-installed with. As regards the H74020g changelog, well, AT&T is installing WiFi calling and Advanced messaging features to V20 with ths update.
It’s good to see LG this active on software front, taking good care of both incremental update and major Android version upgrade. LG is also busy right now rolling out G5 Nougat update — it recently pushed the Sprint G5 Android 7.0 build, after launching the 7.0 build first in Korea, while the international G5 got the Nougat firmware KDZ also out yesterday.
The V20 update comes in different sizes based on your current software version, and AT&T estimated it could run anywhere between 240MB to 1.02GB.
The update comes with September security patch, which is odd, because among the premium sets, most are now on November patch, including AT&T’s own Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
The older LG sets like G3 are out of contention for Nougat update, but they have hopes alive in CM14 ROM, a custom ROM that is bestowing the sweetness of Android Nougat on many devices, both old and new.
