Update [March 12, 2018]: The Android 8.0 Oreo update is also available for the ZenFone 4 Pro now (model no. ZS551KL), coming in as software version WW_15.0410.1802.34.

Asus is finally releasing the much awaited Android 8.0 Oreo update for its current flagship phone, ZenFone 4. The update is rolling out with firmware version V15.0405.1711.76, and it brings along all the bells and whistles from Oreo such as Picture-in-picture mode, AutoFill, Notification dots, Instant apps, and more.

Asus confirmed the release of Android 8.0 update for its ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 3 devices back in August when Google officially announced the update. However, users have been kept waiting until today for any news on the status of Oreo for their Asus devices. Thankfully, it’s rolling out now at-least by the end of the year 2017.

Asus’s Oreo update is currently rolling out to the ZenFone 4 variant ZE554KL only, but it shouldn’t be long before other variants of the device receive the update too.

Asus had previously promised to update all its supported devices to Oreo by the second half of the year 2018. And the first device getting Oreo by the end of 2017 goes to prove that the company indeed means what it promised and that some variants of the ZenFone 3 series may get Oreo in Q2 of 2018 only.
