Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Android 7.1.1 Nougat update now rolling out

Asus has started seeding a new software update to ZenFone 3 Zoom. The update installs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is being rolled out over the air as we speak.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is receiving the update as software version V20.31.49.2. The update also bundles performance improvements and bug fixes.

The Nougat update brings plethora of new features to ZenFone 3 Zoom which includes support for portrait mode and RAW image preview in gallery. The update also adds Beauty Live feature and improves picture taking experience.

The changelog recommends the removal of ‘Share Link’ from ZenFone 3 Zoom once the device starts running Nougat OS as ‘as it does not work properly on Android N’. Also as some live wallpapers like Holo Spiral, Bubbles, Black Hole, Phase Beam are not compatible with Android N, these should be removed after system upgrade.

If you haven’t received the update notification for the update yet, do not fret as Asus takes about a week or two to completely roll out the update in batches. You can still try checking for it manually by heading to Settings > About device > Software update.

Once the update reaches you, ensure that your device has at least 50 percent charge before installing the Nougat software. Also, preferably download the update over WiFi to save on extra data charges.
