Asus has just announced that the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Zenfone 3 Laser is rolling out now. The update is available as an OTA and will take about a week to be available for all the users.
The update, apart from bringing Nougat to the Zenfone 3 Laser, brings several other improvements, bug fixes, and changes. This is for the model ZC551KL and the Nougat software version is V14.2015.1701.13.

Asus has also included a full change-log for the update, and there’s quite a few changes that you need to know about. For example, the ‘Share Link’ option, app shortcuts for System Update, Flashlight, Audio Wizard and Splendid have been removed. Several other things that do not work properly on Nougat, have been gotten rid of.

Took a while But its finally here but people seem to not being aware of this like my brother for example as he was not notified and moreover is there a UI change or will they have to make do with the same ZenUI ?
Pretty much the same UI with little tweaks here and there. 🙂
The ZenUI is kind of a pain.I’m like Stock android more than any other UI’s 😀
I feel the same about Zen ui. It can never get as smooth as stock. (:
The stock is a blessing in many ways .It never lags and its a beauty and if you don’t like it you can simply use a different launcher.I tried changing the launcher on the Zenphone and it was a pain ,no matter how many times I set it as the default launcher when pressing the home screen 4/10 times it ends up with the custom launcher
Yea. It is unadulterated android. That’s the problem with OEMs. Especially the learning ones like Zen. They skin the android too much and it starts interfering with other functions.
Really a bummer to hear about your Zen launcher. :/

More than anything, very happy with the VoLTE and VoWIFI support. Something that was a very incremental feature to justify the upgrade.
