Asus releases ZenFone 5 update that fixes issues with video recording, Google Lens, and charging schedule

Asus ZenFone 5Z

Asus recently rolled out a new update to the flagship ZenFone 5Z and it has another one targeting the midrange ZenFone 5 ZE620KL. The phone has been selling in various markets for a while now and in fact, it has received the most updates when compared to other ZenFone 5 variants.

The new update installs software version 15.0618.1804.5 that is based on Android Oreo and brings a bunch of much-needed bug fixes. For those who have been experiencing issues with video recording, scheduled charging or Google Lens not supporting OIS, this update has fixes to these issues.

The update is rolling out over the air, which makes it hard to come by. Rather than wait, you can still check if it’s available for download by heading to Settings > System > System update > Check update.
