Asus has announced the launch of the new Fonepad 7 carrying the model number FE171CG and the MeMO Pad 8 tablets based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system topped with Zen UI in India. The devices are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 19,999, and they are available solely via the e-commerce portal giant Flipkart.
The company touts that the Fonepad 7 and MeMO Pad 8 to be light weight tablets with rich features that will ensure fast connectivity and quick response time.
To remind of their specifications, the Fonepad 7 was announced in January and it makes use of a standard 7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The device draws power from a dual core Intel Atom Z2520 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable native storage space.
The imaging aspects of the Asus Fonepad 7 include an 8 MP main snapper at its back and a front facing 2 MP selfie snapper. The other aspects of the device include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM support, GPS and a 3,950 mAh battery.
The Asus MeMO Pad 8 is bestowed with an 8 inch IPS display with a Full HD screen resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device makes use of a 64 bit 2.3 GHz quad core Intel Atom Z3580 processor that is backed by 2 GB of RAM.
The storage aspects of the MeMO Pad 8 are similar to that of the Fonepad 7. Otherwise, the tablet has a 5 MP main snapper, a 1.2 MP front facing selfie shooter, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS and a 4,350 mAh battery rated to pump in up to 9 hours of backup.
