The Asus Padfone is a hybrid device that can work as a smartphone as well as a tablet. When the device is docked to the docking station, it works as a tablet. The Padfone S Plus is an upgraded version of the Padfone S and its international variant as it comes with some bumped up specifications.
The device retains the same 5 inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and it is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 processor as in the Padfone S. The other aspects that are unchanged are a 13 MP main snapper at its back and a 2,300 mAh battery.
When it comes to the changes, the Asus Padfone S Plus includes a 3 GB of RAM that is a 50 percent improvement than the 2 GB of RAM in the Padfone S or Padfone X. Also, the device makes use of 64 GB of default memory capacity and this is a great increase from the 16 GB of storage in the original model. Notably, the 16 GB storage variant has only 10.5 GB of user space to store the content.
The Asus Padfone S Plus will be officially available in Malaysia from April 8 and the device will carry a price tag of $302. However, the docking station that will convert the device into a tablet is an optional accessory.
