Asus launches ZenFone AR in India for INR 49,999, gets you Tango (AR) and Daydream (VR)

One of the highest spec’d smartphones, the ZenFone AR, has been launched in India. Priced at Rs. 49,999, the phone will be up for grabs at Flipkart from 4pm today.

The 8GB/128GB variant of Asus ZenFone AR will go on sale in India. It will only be available in a Black colour variant in the country.

Asus ZenFone AR is world’s first smartphone to come with Tango (Google’s AR) and Daydream (Google’s VR) support. Launched during the CES event earlier this year, the phone is now available in Taiwan, Philippines, and Malaysia.

Asus Zenfone AR has many firsts to its name. Besides being the world’s first Tango and Daydream enabled smartphone, it was also first the device ever to pack 8GB RAM. This is paired with 64/128/256GB storage options.

The phone is equipped with a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, the phone carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset which is a downer considering most of the flagship phones come with the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Asus ships ZenFone AR with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. A  3,300mAh battery keeps the lights on. On the imaging department, the phone houses a 23MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.

Asus will be shipping the ZenFone AR to Indian customers alongwith Asus ZenEar S earphones in the box. These earphones support DTS Headphone:X and Hi-Res Audio and are built out of aerospace metal.
