  • Apple Podcasts web app is available on all major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox.
  • Features include all the usual suspects including playback controls, library management, and personalized recommendations.

Apple Podcasts lovers rejoice! For Apple has finally rolled out a web version of its popular Podcasts app. The new web interface, available at podcasts.apple.com, brings the familiar Apple Podcasts experience to desktop browsers, making it easier than ever to tune in to your favorite shows

The web app works smoothly on major browsers like Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, ensuring wide accessibility for users regardless of their preferred platform. This expansion allows podcast enthusiasts to enjoy their content seamlessly across devices.

The Apple Podcasts web app has all the major features that are available on its iOS app. These include:

  • Playback controls: Users can easily play, pause, skip, and adjust volume.
  • Library management: Users can access their personal podcast library, including followed shows and saved episodes.
  • Personalized recommendations: The app offers tailored podcast suggestions based on listening history.
  • Search functionality: Users can discover new podcasts and episodes using the robust search feature.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to speed up podcast listening, which is a shame, as you’re stuck with the normal listening speed. Also, there’s no way to ‘view transcripts‘ as you could on the iOS app. But that’s to be expected since Apple retains the best features for its devices.

The launch of the web app marks a significant step in Apple’s efforts to make its podcast platform more accessible and user-friendly. By bringing the Apple Podcasts experience to the web, the company is catering to users who prefer desktop listening or may not have access to iOS devices.

This move also positions Apple to compete more effectively in the growing podcast market, where platforms like Spotify have already established a strong web presence. The web app’s release demonstrates Apple’s commitment to evolving its podcast offerings and meeting the diverse needs of its user base.
