As expected, on Monday, the Cupertino tech titan Apple announced its new music streaming service called Apple Music at the WWDC 2015. This service will be going live for the Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac and also on PC from June 30 in 100 countries.
Interestingly, Apple Music will make its debut on Android as well. As per Apple, the Android users will receive this service this autumn. Apple Music is said to be identical on all platforms expect for the integration with Apple Siri. The Apple Music includes the Beats 1 that is a 24-hour radio station, Connect platform and on-demand music streaming.
Apple has a catalogue of more than 30 million tracks for on-demand streaming. With this feature, you can stream any song, playlist or album as per your choice. It will include automatic personalization and curated playlists as well. There will be a ‘For You’ section that will have a mix of new releases, playlists and albums personalized for you. It has been stated that the users can cache music for offline listening.
The Beats 1 is introduced with the Apple Music. It is a 24-hour radio station that broadcasts from studios in New York, Los Angeles and London. All users tuned into this radio station will experience the same programs irrespective of their location in any part of this world. The Apple Music will also include curated radio stations ranging from classical to indie rock.

With the Connect platform, Apple Music users and artists can engage with one another. Apple Music will let artists to share backstage photos, lyrics and videos to their fans. They can also release their most recent songs directly to the fans, and their fans can like or comment on the posts made by artists.
Apple Music will be priced at $9.99 per month and there is a family plan (for six members) for $14.99 per month. The new users will receive three months of free subscription to the service.
Apple has not stated anything regarding the Apple Music availability in India. As it will be introduced in 100 countries at the same time, we can expect India to be a part of the first batch.
