Essential is rolling out the second beta of the Essential Phone Oreo update to users. If you had installed the first beta, then you should be seeing the new OTA update now.

Since this is a beta, there are quite a few bug fixes and improvements on here. It also includes some new features such as Picture-in-Picture mode, instant apps and smart text selection. The second beta comes over a month after the first beta was released. The build number of the this beta is OPM1.170911.213.

The update installs the latest December security patch on your device. It improves startup and app sign-in, while adding Google Play Protect scans. You would also be happy to know that some bugs from beta 1 have been fixed in this build.
