Nokia in January 2019 revealed its Android 9 Pie release roadmap that placed the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 Pie release dates within Q1 2019 while the Nokia 3 was pegged at early Q2 2019.

True to its word, the HMD Global-owned company is now rolling out Android Pie updates to the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 handsets as we speak. Users of the duo in Nokia community forums are reporting to have received the OTA updates for the duo, tagging along the latest Android security patches for March 2019.

Speaking of security patches, this is the best you get with the latest Nokia 3 update. The 2017 device is receiving a heavy update that weighs in the regions of 1.9GB and carries version V4.43E, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

It’s strange that a device is receiving such a huge update only to improve the security patch to February 2019, which isn’t even the latest version available.

Nonetheless, the expected release date of early Q2 2019 is almost here, although it’s likely that Nokia will seed the beta version of Pie first before releasing the stable version weeks later. We should find out soon.

Thanks, Amit!
