Surprise! The wait is finally over! The Android 9 Pie update has been released in the UK and Ireland for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users.

All unlocked variants are receiving the Android Pie update as software version N960FXXU2CSA2. Most users should have received notifications for the over-the-air update by now. Users at Reddit have reported that the update is now live, and is hitting the devices as an OTA.

The rollout will primarily bring to your phone two upgrades: a new user interface from Samsung called One UI, that pushes out all remnants of the previously released TouchWiz, and a security patch for January 2019.

One UI is a far better cry than anything Samsung has released before and features gorgeous color palettes and more artificial intelligence-like functioning. Apart from this, the upgrade brings on board a navigation system that works on hand gestures, and Dark Mode, a much-needed addition that makes using the phone in the dark a painless-for-the-eyes experience, or at least aims to do so (and even succeeds to an extent).
