Last week, Samsung announced its new Android 9 Pie-based custom skin, One UI, and promised that it will be available for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ before the end of this month. Soon after, we got wind that the first One UI beta will arrive on the S9 duo beginning November 15th.
Now, to add more weight to this report, the two phones, alongside the Galaxy Note 9, Note 8, S8, S8+, and Note FE have now received Wi-Fi Alliance clearance with Android 9 Pie running the show. Of course, this does mean Samsung has been given the go-ahead to update the phones to the new OS, but the wait, as usual, will take several weeks, with some up to Q2 2019.
Multiple variants of these devices have been cleared, which could further suggest that Samsung has plans to release the update in multiple markets at about the same time, if not the same time. But of course, matters of software updates are always easy in theory, so be sure to be ready for anything.
