LG’s 2018 flagship phone, the LG G7 ThinQ, will begin receiving the update to Android 9 Pie in Canada mid-next week. The device first received the update to Pie in Korea in January, but it’s only earlier this month that the OS arrived stateside.
We already knew that Pie was coming soon to the G7 in Canada following Rogers’ update, but the carrier didn’t give us any specific release date. TELUS, on the other hand, has a date and its June 19, next week Wednesday.
The update, besides Pie, will also tag along the usual bug fixes and optimizations to the G7.
Its unfortunate that LG is still rolling out Pie to a device that is also expected to receive Android Q. At this rate, we are likely to see an update to Android Q arriving somewhere in Q3 2020.
