Back in 2017, HTC committed to rolling out Android Oreo to the HTC U11, HTC 10 and HTC U Ultra ahead of others like the HTC U Play. After rolling out Oreo to the HTC 10 and U11, the company indeed turned attention to the U Ultra, where the device started receiving the new OS a few weeks ago, albeit in India alone.
Now it appears attention has turned to Europe, where reports coming from Germany and Romania imply that Oreo is now hitting the HTC U Ultra over the air. The update is coming in as software version 2.21.401.1 and weighs 1.77GB, which is typical of a major OS upgrade.

Since this is an OTA update, it may take time before your unit gets the notification to download the OS. Even so, the fact that the update has been spotted in Germany and Romania means that Android Oreo could be rolling out in multiple markets across Europe. With this in mind, you may as well try a manual update by heading to Settings > About phone menu and who knows, luck might be on your side!
