Google is updating its Messaging app to v2.8 today. There aren’t many changes that are part of the update, but here’s one that catches your attention right away: the white navigation bar. A similar update was also pushed to Google Phone recently as v15, but that also added a lot more features to the app.

Anyway, there’s nothing else to note with Messages v2.8 — we did spot few new changes in the code but it’s just some tweaking here and there, nothing noteworthy really, or guaranteeing an APK Teardown.

Recently, Google released a light version of its Maps app, called Maps Go, which is yet another small edition company’s popular apps under the Android Go program. We also have similar apps in Files Go, Google Go and YouTube Go.

Those aren’t the only Google Apps that made their way to Play Store recently. You also have AR dedicated apps like AR Stickers and ARCore — Pixel-exclusive right now — that give you nice AR characters within your camera app on Pixel and Pixel 2 handsets. Besides that, Google’s research team gave us some photography apps, Selfissimo and Storyboard. Do check them out.
