Motorola announced the beginning of Android Pie update for the Moto G6 Play several weeks ago, but as usual, carriers always take their sweet time to release the same updates.
So is the case for U.S. Cellular, which has now updated its official software support page to indicate that Android 9 Pie update is available for the Moto G6 Play.
The update is available over the air as version PPP29.118-9 as part of the Pie update, the G6 Play is receiving things like intuitive navigation with gestures, digital wellbeing for taking care of your digital health, improved notification system, and so on.
Since the update is rolling out over the air, it may take some time before all Moto G6 Play units on U.S. Cellular receive the download notification, so be patient.
This is the only major OS upgrade for this device, meaning you won’t get an official upgrade to the latest Android Q when the stable arrives later this year.
