Samsung has been quite busy in the recent weeks with Android Oreo updates for its budget phones in the Galaxy J series and the latest to join the party is the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (SM-G610F and SM-G610M).

Like other Sammy devices updated in the recent past, the Galaxy J7 Prime, which is also known as Galaxy On7 Prime in other markets, is being updated to Android 8.1 Oreo. The update is coming in over the air and besides installing a new OS, it also brings along an updated Android security patch for the month of August 2018.

So far, the update has been spotted in multiple markets including Europe, Asia, UAE, South America, and Africa, which are actually the regions where the Galaxy J7 Prime is mostly sold. Since the update is airborne and is rolling out based on regions, it’s possible that it has yet to arrive on your device besides having started rolling out several weeks ago.
