After a month of beta testing, Nokia is finally rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to its current flagship device, Nokia 8. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer announced the update earlier today in a tweet stating that the company has fixed all bugs/issues found during their beta testing and that the official update is now rolling out.

The Nokia 8 Oreo OTA update comes with firmware version V4.35J and brings new features such as Picture-in-picture, Notification dots, Autofill passwords, Google Play Protect security scans, November security patch and improved boot up speed. The OTA update is around 1.5GB in size, and hence is available to download over WiFi connection only.

If you haven’t received the update notification yet, head over to your device Settings » About phone » and manually check for system updates from there. Since this is a staged rollout, it may take some time before the update reaches your device.

The rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo update picked pace this month as a handful of device manufacturers started seeding out the latest version of Android as either beta or final releases to their devices. Earlier this week, OnePlus released the official Oreo update to OnePlus 3 and 3T, and the company also just released OnePlus 5 Oreo beta update.
