About a week ago, LG V20 users in Korea started reporting that Android 8.0 Oreo was rolling out to the device. In typical fashion, the same update has now arrived stateside beginning with one of the most unlikely carriers, Sprint.

The American carrier has begun rolling out Android Oreo to the 2016 smartphone, the first major OS upgrade the device has received since launch, as version LS99720a and accompanying it is the latest Android security patch for the month of July 2018.

LG V20 users on Sprint can watch out for an OTA update anywhere between now and next week because such updates take time to reach all devices. To skip the wait, you can try your luck by heading to the Settings menu, where you can check for the update manually.

Although not confirmed, we also expect the LG V20 to receive the update to Android P, but the wait might be even longer.
