We may not have seen any Oreo rollout related news — there have been timely security patches, though — for the Galaxy A8 2018 edition which in fact rebooted the series after a no-show in 2017, but the 2-year old 2016-edition seems to be in the line for the Android 8.0 treat already.
Folks at Wi-Fi Alliance just published a new documentation which records approval for the Android 8.0 OS software for a Samsung device carrying the model no. SM-A810F (and other variants ending with S/K/etc.), which is none other than the Galaxy A6 2016.

The highly anticipated Android Oreo update seems to be on its way quite soon, as the device bearing model number SM-A810F/DS has already passed through Wi-Fi certification running Android 8.0 Oreo.
Based on our experience, it does take about a month or two for the final software update to release once it has been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, but the staged rollout could take longer based on your region and network carrier.
