Have a Samsung Galaxy Tab E from Verizon laying around the house? Well, then we have a bit of good news for you. An Android 8.0 Oreo-touting Galaxy Tab E has just received certification at the Wi-Fi alliance today.
It’s listed as model number SM-T378V, which is the Verizon Tab E model. So this means that the tablet could start receiving the update as soon as next month. You’d better keep your fingers crossed!

The tablet ran Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box at launch, so obviously it’s eligible to get the Oreo update. Which for Verizon users, seems to be incoming. So make sure you keep an eye on your tablet, in case any new notifications pop up alerting you a new system update is available.
What about the Android 9 Pie update? Forget about it, the Galaxy Tab E is a pretty old device, and it still has to get the Oreo update.

However, Android Pie will most likely land on Samsung’s more newer and premium slate models like the Galaxy Tab S4 which made a debut this summer. Other more current products like the middle-range Galaxy Tab A 10.5 which arrived in August might also be eligible to receive the latest version of Android. The big question is when?
