After a pretty long wait, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is finally rolling out to the HTC One S on T-Mobile – the update is now available and should complete rollout by the end of this week.
The update – OS version Android 4.1.1 – is around 675MB in size and brings all the Jelly Bean goodness you’d expect – rich actionable notifications, Google Now, butter smooth transitions and animations with Project Butter, faster browser performance, resizable widgets, high-resolution contact pictures, offline voice dictation, improved accessibility, and general performance and usability improvements.
It is a bit disappointing that T-Mobile isn’t pushing Android 4.1.2, which while a minor upgrade over 4.1.1 is still a pretty useful one. But hey, let us not be negative here and just celebrate the fact that the update is finally available and that the wait is at an end.
So go ahead and check if the update is available from the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu, and get your Jelly Bean treat.
