With every new flagship, Samsung introduces new features that seemingly look pretty cool. The latest feature Samsung has introduced is the Always On display feature on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Always On display that shows time and notification on your device’ display all the time, even when it’s locked and screen is off. You might wonder about the negative effect on battery due to this, but thanks to Super AMOLED display on S7, only the pixels that are used to display information consume battery, so the impact on battery is almost negligible.

Now the good thing is that all Samsung flagships have always used Super AMOLED displays, so it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that Samsung would roll out an update for (at-least) its 2015 flagship devices (S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5) to bring Always On display feature to them.

Samsung has often pushed new features from the latest flagship to previous generation flagships, so we guess Always On display too will make it with either a small OTA update or a newer release of Android.

We’ll be sure to let you know when Samsung officially brings Always On to 2015 flagships (or, if we’re lucky, 2014 devices too). Stay tuned..

Happy Androiding!
