All three shrines in VV: ULTIMATUM are worth chasing, and the good news is that not one of them asks for Robux or in-game currency. What they ask for instead is legwork: a quest chain and a particular key item per shrine. The Soul Society shrine hands back your skill points, the Everwhite Enclave shrine upgrades two skills for free, and the Hueco Mundo shrine trades monster parts for stacking buffs. Below is the whole setup front, then the route to each one.
The three shrines and what unlocks each
| Shrine | Location | Key requirement | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soul Society | Soul Society Outskirts (from the beginner village) | Three extracts placed in the statues | Free skill-tree refund |
| Everwhite Enclave / Arctic | Everwhite Enclave + Arctic Plains | Lady Hikari quest chain (kill Lord Nevis, then Nix) | Two free skill upgrades (not past level 6) |
| Hueco Mundo | Cave near the Windigo area | Ashen Pendant + kneel emote, then monster parts | Three buffs once maxed |
Every shrine sits behind a different gate, so the map below is the at-a-glance version — where each one lives, the quest or item that opens it, and what you walk away with. The walkthroughs that follow handle each chain in full, since the three play out very differently.

Reaching the Everwhite Enclave upgrade shrine through the Lady Hikari quest
- Travel to the Everwhite Enclave — Head to the Everwhite Enclave to start the Lady Hikari chain.
- Talk to Brutus — Speak to the Enclave NPC — Brutus in-game, reported elsewhere as Pratz — who points you toward Rose.
- Enter the library — Go inside the library building in the Enclave.
- Find Rose on the second floor — Climb to the second floor and talk to Rose to take her quest.
- Accept the Lord Nevis quest — Rose sends you to kill Lord Nevis, the northern commander, for a Frostvein Shard.
- Kill Lord Nevis in Arctic Plains — Defeat Lord Nevis when he spawns in Arctic Plains, with the quest active.
- Return to Rose — Talk to Rose again to trigger the cinematic and open a secret passage.
- Find the hole outside the library — Leave the library, make a left in the village, and drop into the secret passage.
- Talk to Lady Hikari — Speak to the shadowy figure below — Lady Hikari herself — to get the next quest.
- Summon Nix in Dweller’s Cave — Use a Frost Shard at the middle of Dweller’s Cave to summon the Gilly Dweller, Nix.
- Defeat Nix — Kill Nix while the quest is active so the kill registers.
- Report back to Lady Hikari — Return to the cave and talk to Lady Hikari again.
- Claim the upgrade shrine — She summons a shrine granting two free skill upgrades, capped at level 6.
This is the long one. It threads through two NPCs, two boss kills, and a hidden passage before the shrine ever appears, so expect to be running back and forth. A couple of names are worth flagging so you don’t second-guess yourself mid-chain. The Enclave NPC who first mentions Lady Hikari is Brutus in-game but is reported as Pratz in some write-ups — same role either way. The summoning item for Nix is also messy: it’s called a Frost Shard in the demonstration, but the same item is described as a Frostvein Shard (or Frost Vein Shard) elsewhere, and even the person showing it admits they forgot the full name. Treat them as one item.
Opening the Hueco Mundo shrine behind the cave rubble
- Head to the Windigo-area cave — From the dragon area, go to the Windigo area and enter the cave.
- Follow the maze straight — Push straight through the dark tunnel, avoiding the mobs and the holes in the floor.
- Turn right at the first lantern — When you reach the first lantern, take your first right.
- Take the next left — Make a left and keep going past the skeleton quest marker — that means you’re on track.
- Reach the rubble and lightning pillar — Stop at the large rubble with a red aura and the lightning pillar on the left.
- Hold the Ashen Pendant — Equip and hold the Ashen Pendant, a drop from the Dragon boss.
- Kneel to open the cave — With the kneel emote equipped and the pendant held, press K to kneel.
- Enter the secret cave — The rubble opens into a secret cave with the shrine inside.
- Offer monster parts — Interact with the shrine and sacrifice monster parts to progress it and earn buffs.
- Max out the shrine — Keep feeding parts until the statue goes inert — that’s the maxed state, and it grants three buffs.
The Hueco Mundo shrine has the trickiest entrance and the longest grind. The cave is dark and full of pits, so the lantern is your anchor: first right at the lantern, then a left, and you should hit the rubble with the red aura and the lightning pillar beside it. That rubble is the door — hold the Ashen Pendant (a Dragon boss drop), equip your kneel emote, and press K there to open the secret cave. Kneeling at any other rubble wall does nothing, so make sure you’re at the one past the lantern.
Inside, the shrine works on a feed-it loop: you sacrifice monster parts, it hands out buffs as you go, and it eventually “runs out of power” — the statue loses its glow and reads as inert, which is the maxed state. At max it reportedly grants three stacking buffs; the exact names and values are hard to read off-screen, but early players describe them as a shrine-cultist damage buff (around 7.0), a Shunpo stamina boost near 4.0, and a further +10 buff. Treat those numbers as rough until they’re confirmed.
The Hueco Mundo shrine is a grind — one reported run took roughly 80 to 100 monster parts and about 5 hours to max. Farm with a friend and pool monster parts to cut that time dramatically.

Drops and bosses to farm before any shrine
None of these shrines open without their key items, so it’s worth lining up the farm targets early rather than discovering a missing drop mid-quest. The Soul Society shrine needs three extracts — Intelligence, Strength, and the contested third one (Courage or Masked Hollow Man Extract). That third extract is the hard one: it reportedly drops from a secret boss in Soul Society Outskirts that spawns randomly, with no fixed location or reliable respawn timer. When it’s up, a server-wide prompt warns that a “big Hollow has appeared” — that’s your cue to head straight to the Outskirts and look. It’s said to hit harder than the Crocodile King and run multiple phases, so come prepared.
The Everwhite chain needs the Frostvein Shard (the Frost Shard / Frost Vein Shard naming muddle from above), which drops from Lord Nevis, the northern commander, in Arctic Plains. The Hueco Mundo shrine needs the Ashen Pendant, a drop from the Dragon boss in the dragon area. Because the bosses gate everything downstream, farming Lord Nevis and the Dragon reliably is effectively step zero for two of the three shrines.
Pitfalls that waste your time, plus a grind shortcut
Most of the lost runs here come from a handful of avoidable mistakes. The big one is killing Lord Nevis or Nix without the quest active — the kill won’t count and you’ll wait for another spawn. For the Soul Society shrine, bring one of each extract, not duplicates of the same type, and accept the NPC’s quest before fiddling with the statues. For Hueco Mundo, the usual trip-ups are kneeling at the wrong rubble, or trying to open it without holding the Ashen Pendant — equipping it isn’t enough, it has to be in hand when you kneel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do any of the shrines cost Robux or in-game currency?
No. All three are gated by quests and key items rather than currency — the rewards (skill refund, two free upgrades, and the Hueco buffs) are free once you complete the steps.
What is the third Soul Society extract actually called?
It’s not settled. It shows up as the Courage Extract in some walkthroughs and as the Masked Hollow Man Extract — a random secret-boss drop — in others. Either way it’s the third of the three extracts you slot into the statues.
What level do you need before these unlock?
Unverified, but some players report you must be at least level 15 before the Soul Society NPC offers a useful quest, and that the Arctic content tends to open via a level-40+ questline. Treat both numbers as rough guidance rather than hard gates.
Where does the Ashen Pendant drop and what’s it for?
It drops from the Dragon boss in the dragon area, and it’s the key to the Hueco Mundo shrine — you hold it and kneel (K) at the rubble to open the secret cave.
How long does it take to max the Hueco Mundo shrine?
One reported run took around 80 to 100 monster parts and roughly 5 hours of grinding. That’s a single anecdote, not a confirmed requirement, and farming with a friend cuts it well down.

Are there codes worth redeeming first?
Yes — before chasing shrines, open the in-game shop, head to the codes tab, and redeem whatever’s currently active for a head start.
