In February this year, Nokia re-entered the smartphone market with devices running on the Android operating system. They launched three phones -Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, at the MWC 2017 in February.
In addition to having excellent build quality and cool specs, one more thing that impressed everyone was the fact the all Nokia devices run on stock Android. Not only that, Nokia at the launch event confirmed that Nokia devices will get regular and timely Android and security updates.
Check out: Android Oreo 8.0 update: When will my device get it
Talking about Android updates, the latest version of the Android operating system is out in the form of Android Oreo 8.0. While Nokia confirmed at the MWC that all Nokia devices will get Oreo update, they didn’t specifically mention the devices. Recently, Juho Sarvikas the Chief Product Officer, HMD Global (firm who makes Nokia phones) confirmed via a tweet that all Nokia devices including Nokia 3 will get Oreo update.
All of our smartphones will upgrade to Oreo, Nokia 3 included. No comments yet on timing so that I don't get into trouble ?.

Very few OEMs push new updates to a budget friendly device, looks like Nokia is set to change it. We hope they keep their promise of providing regular updates in long run.
Also, BTW, in case you are wondering, the flagship device from Nokia, the Nokia 8 will also get Oreo update (Duh! Isn’t that obvious now.)
Android 8.0 Oreo brings features such as picture-in-picture (PIP) mode, Notifications Visual Cleanup, Notification Badges, Always-On Display Updates, Instant Apps, and Autofill for apps.
