Getting a mask before you start
You’ll need a mask equipped for nearly every one of these crimes, so sort that out first. You can loot one off a bandit you defeat, or buy one from a back-alley shop — there’s a handy one just outside Hernand’s main town. Once it’s in your inventory, open the armor radial menu and equip the mask whenever a challenge calls for it, then take it off again afterward.
Equip your mask from the armor radial menu before every crime — pulling these off unmasked just alerts the guards, and the action won’t count toward the challenge.

You can loot a mask off a bandit you defeat, or buy one from a back-alley shop — there’s one right outside Hernand’s main town. After that, open the armor radial menu and equip it whenever a challenge needs you masked.
Do the Above the Law challenges have to be done in a particular order?
No — the artifacts are spread around the world and you can tackle the challenges in whatever order you find them. A few have soft prerequisites, though: the goat challenge needs the ranch unlocked through a faction quest, so you may have to leave that one until later.
What counts as “night” for the banner challenge, and what if a guard sees me?
Night is 9 PM to 4 AM in-game. The run has to be clean — you need to destroy all 10 banners without being caught, so if a guard spots you mid-crime it won’t count. Using the bow from a distance and fast-travelling to the Abyss Nexus to respawn the same two banners keeps it low-risk.
Why can’t I sell wagons or steal goats yet — is the challenge locked behind a quest or chapter?
The goat challenge is gated: you have to complete the Grey Main faction quest Field of Abundance at camp before the ranch opens up. For the wagon challenge, the black-market fence ties into a faction quest that becomes available later in the story (around Chapter 4).
