It’s a festive season going on in the Ice Cream Sandwich AOSP ROM development scene, and the latest Android device to boot the ICS love is the Acer Iconia Tab A500.
Ice Cream Sandwich for Iconia Tab is being developed by blazingwolf, and as you’d expect from any early/alpha builds ─ the rom is not stable enough for everyday use. Here’s list of what’s working and what’s not:
Working:
- Touch screen
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Bunch of other stuff

The very alpha build of this rom is available for download for you to try out, but let me remind you again that’s not for everyday use ─ and you’ll have to revert back to your current rom, so make sure that you take a backup of your important data before you flashing this rom.

why risk damaging your tablet with this, when Acer have confirmed ICS will roll out to the A500 in January
damage only happens to folk who dont do what flash instructions say, or flash wrongly without the alternative recovery installed.

Where is the ICS Rom at for Iconia tab that acers been promising???
When did they promise that?
well.. if you’d read more then just half of whats posted on the net about this subject then you’d see that this was told to alot of acer owners that it would be out the mid of Jan and here it is almost Feb and nothing? besides i’ve talked with Acer tech support and they told me it will be available for Acer a500 mid Jan GUARANTEED! sounds pretty much like a promise to me wouldn’t you think?!
No i called them they said mid march

Hola, he comprado esta tableta hace unos dias, como sabes esta viene con 3.0, primero me pidio actualizar el software y se hizo el upgrade a 3.1, ahora segun dice q hay una actualizacion 7.x.x.x pero comienza a descargar y derrepente la descarga vuelve a empezar desde 0, no es desde un punto espeficifico, sino desde quizas el 7X u 8X (%)porciento de la descarga, crees q podrias ayudarme a como forzar dicha actualizacion o si me puedes dar algun tip. muchas gracias de antemano.

Okay, so now I’m just pissed. One of the reasons I got the A500 was because it would have forward compatability with ICS. Now its not even gonna happen???
