What to know
- Ward of Dawn can now be moved up to two times after it is placed.
- Players inside the Bubble receive Void Overshield and increased weapon damage.
- Enemies inside the Ward are weakened, making them take increased damage.
- The Ward’s owner gains increased melee damage while inside the Bubble.
Destiny 2‘s latest sandbox update has fundamentally changed how Ward of Dawn works. For years, Bubble Titans relied on placing a stationary dome and fighting around its location. With the 2026 rework, Ward of Dawn has become a much more flexible support Super that can follow the flow of combat rather than forcing your team to stay in one spot.
How the new Ward of Dawn works

The updated Ward of Dawn creates a protective Void dome for you and your allies. While standing inside the Bubble, teammates gain a Void Overshield, reducing incoming damage and improving survivability during difficult encounters.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Super | Ward of Dawn |
| Class | Titan (Void) |
| New Function | Move the Bubble after deployment |
| Maximum Repositions | 2 |
| Team Buffs | Void Overshield, increased weapon damage |
| Enemy Debuff | Weaken |
| Additional Titan Bonus | Increased melee damage inside Bubble |
| Base Cooldown | 7:35 |
The Bubble also grants increased weapon damage, allowing fireteams to deal more damage during boss phases or objective pushes. At the same time, enemies that enter the Ward become Weakened, causing them to take increased damage and suffer reduced movement speed.
The biggest change, however, is the ability to physically relocate the Bubble after it has been placed.
How to move your Bubble in Destiny 2
After casting Ward of Dawn, the Titan can interact with the Ward’s core and pick it up. Once carried to a new location, the Bubble can be redeployed.
Step 1
Activate Ward of Dawn as normal and place the Bubble where needed.

Step 2
Approach the Ward’s core after deployment.

Step 3
Pick up the core to remove the Bubble from its current position.

Step 4
Move to your desired location.

Step 5
Redeploy the Bubble.

Step 6
Repeat the process if necessary. The Ward can be repositioned up to two times before reaching its movement limit.
| Effect | Description |
|---|---|
| Overshield | Creates a protective barrier of Void Light that reduces incoming combatant damage. |
| Weaken | Causes affected enemies to take increased damage and move more slowly. |
| Weapon Damage Buff | Allies inside the Bubble gain increased weapon damage. |
| Melee Damage Buff | The Ward owner gains increased melee damage while inside the Bubble. |
| Bubble Relocation | The owner can pick up and reposition the Ward’s core. |
Why this is a significant change
Previously, placing Ward of Dawn required careful planning because the Bubble remained fixed for its entire duration. If a boss moved, an objective shifted, or teammates advanced, the Super could lose much of its value.
The new system allows Titans to adapt during encounters. You can deploy a Bubble for one phase of a fight, move it closer to a new objective, and then reposition it again if the battle continues elsewhere.
Best ways to use the mobile Bubble
This flexibility is particularly useful in:
| Activity Type | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Raids | Follow moving damage phases and team rotations. |
| Dungeons | Maintain defensive coverage during mechanics. |
| Grandmaster Nightfalls | Reposition safety zones as enemy spawns change. |
| PvP Modes | Shift defensive positions and control key areas. |
| Seasonal Activities | Keep buffs active while progressing through encounters. |
The strongest use of the reworked Ward of Dawn is to think of it as a moving support platform rather than a stationary bunker.
Instead of saving the Bubble for a single location, you can place it near an objective, rotate with your team, then reposition it for the next engagement. During damage phases, moving the Bubble closer to a boss can help maintain both survivability and damage bonuses.

Titans also benefit from the added melee damage bonus, making aggressive close-range builds more effective when fighting inside the Ward.
| Benefit | Applies To |
|---|---|
| Void Overshield | Allies inside Bubble |
| Increased Weapon Damage | Allies inside Bubble |
| Enemy Weaken Effect | Targets inside Bubble |
| Increased Melee Damage | Ward owner |
| Bubble Repositioning | Ward owner |
| Additional Tactical Flexibility | Entire Fireteam |
The Ward of Dawn rework is one of the biggest Titan Super updates in recent years. By allowing the Bubble to be moved up to two times, Bungie has transformed it from a static defensive tool into a dynamic support Super that can adapt to changing encounters. Combined with Overshields, increased weapon damage, enemy Weaken effects, and a melee damage bonus for the Titan, the new Bubble offers significantly more strategic options in both PvE and PvP content.
