How to complete the Multitasker challenge in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Step 1: Unlock and track the Multitasker challenge
Once you reach the Batcave hub and have access to the green challenge board terminal above the Batmobile garage, open it and scroll to the Multitasker entry so you know the exact wording: “Strike 3 enemies with a single Birdarang while standing on a cable line.” You don’t need to pin it, but confirm it is active.

Step 2: Load into “A Shadow Over Gotham” on a comfortable difficulty
From the main menu or mission select, choose the final story mission “A Shadow Over Gotham” and set the difficulty to Normal or below so basic thugs survive long enough to bunch up. The opening rooftop encounter here is the easiest setup spot for Multitasker because of the fixed cable routes and scripted enemy spawns.

Step 3: Reach the first cable line without clearing enemies
As the mission starts, setup a cable line that runs above the initial group of thugs.

Stay focused on getting Robin safely onto the line itself and keep Batman away from cleaning up the mobs, so you preserve a dense cluster of targets below.
Step 4: Lure and cluster at least three thugs under the line
If the thugs are scattered, briefly drop near them, let a few spawn or walk closer, then jump back up and return to the cable line so that three or more enemies gather roughly under your position.

Lightly dodge and reposition instead of attacking to avoid accidentally knocking anyone out; your goal is a tight group directly beneath your perch for maximum Birdarang coverage.
Step 5: Aim the Birdarang and lock onto three distinct targets
While standing on the cable line, switch to Robin’s Birdarang and use the aim control to sweep across enemies so the auto-lock or soft-lock picks up three individual thugs at once.

Wait for the reticles or highlight indicators to show that three different targets are selected, then keep your left stick neutral so Robin stays balanced on the line and does not drop to the ground.

Step 6: Throw the Birdarang and confirm three hits from the cable
Once three targets are locked, throw the Birdarang without moving off the cable line and let it travel through all enemies. As long as all three hits register while Robin remains on the cable, the Multitasker condition is satisfied.

If the challenge tracker does not pop, immediately pause and restart the checkpoint to try again while enemy positions are still favorable.

Step 7: Exit and cash in the challenge at the Batcave
After seeing the Multitasker completion notification, you can finish or quit the mission and return to the Batcave. Head back to the challenge board terminal, highlight Multitasker, and claim the stud reward so it counts toward your total completed challenges and mural progression on the Batcave wall. This also lets you chain into other challenges efficiently.

Critical mistakes and pro tips for Multitasker
-
Moving off the cable line, even slightly, before the Birdarang hits all three enemies can invalidate the attempt, so keep your movement input minimal while throwing.
-
Accidentally defeating or knocking out enemies beforehand often leaves only two valid targets; if your crowd thins out, restart from the last checkpoint to reset the spawn pattern.
-
Using high-damage Waynetech upgrades can cause the Birdarang to down weaker thugs too quickly in earlier encounters, so consider tackling this challenge before fully maxing Robin’s ranged damage.
-
If auto-lock refuses to grab three enemies at once, slightly adjust your angle along the cable or wait for more thugs to step into a tighter formation below you.
-
Playing in co-op can unintentionally sabotage the setup if your partner clears enemies too fast; coordinate so one player only controls crowd aggro while Robin lines up the throw.
