- The change is being made to give Story Highlights more prominence on your profile and bring more visibility to them.
Instagram is no stranger to contentious changes. But this one could be polarizing. From November 19th, your Story Highlights will be moved to the profile grid.
Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, has confirmed that Story Highlights will be moved to their own dedicated tab on your profile, similar to Reels and Tags tabs. Your Story Highlights will also appear in the main grid. But you will have the option to choose which of their highlights appear on the main grid and can remove the highlights they don’t want in the main grid.
Ostensibly, this is being done to “enhance the profile layout” and possibly give story highlights more visibility on your profile. This should also encourage users to be more mindful of the stories they choose to highlight and add to their main grid. But only time will tell how successful this implementation ends up being.
