We all love the social networking capabilities of smartphones these days. And why not? They lets us be connected 24/7 to our favorite networks. And since facebook is one of the most popular, I thought of making a round up of cool free apps for facebook available in the android market. Enjoy folks!
1. Facebook for Android
This is the official app from facebook. You might know it very well as it comes pre-installed on many android devices out there. The app however was very much criticized of not being any match to its iPhone counterpart. But what we have seen in recent updates to this app makes us say — Hey! this app is no more a junk — it has developed well now and is the best app for you to connect to facebook.
2. Hootsuite
Hootsuite, the company well known for managing social media accounts recently updated their app for android. The update made it free, friendly and cool. With hootsuite you can have multiple twitter and facebook accounts. And the app is quite well integrated with facebook, though it’s not like you get all the glory that official app for facebook features — You can only have basic functions like browse feed, add comments, like stuff and etc. Kinda good for you if you use facebook only at its basics. Also, it has twitter so it makes quite a choice to have download this app.
3. TweetDeck
TweetDeck is yet another app to have all your social network streams in one app — you can have Twitter, Facebook, Buzz and Foursquare. So if you were saying like “Hootsuite ONLY has Twitter and Facebook” then TweeDeck is app for your likes.
4. Go!Chat Facebook (Ads)
Go!Chat Facebook is the best chat client for facebook in the android market. It is purely awesome and it sports features that even the facebook.com chat client doesn’t — like you can send pictures and audio messages to the person you are chatting. Moreover, the whole user interface is sweet and very friendly (Yeah definitely — I LIKE IT). The app is available with free & paid versions in the market. And it’s very usable in its free version but if you can support the developers for their great work — Buy PRO.
5. Facebook Friends Checker
Facebook doesn’t notify you when anyone removes you from their friends list. Maybe because it hurt sentiments. But whatever, if you like to keep track of your friends then “Facebook Friends Checker” is the app for you. Everytime you open it will check whether anyone has removed you or not. Quite a Humble app.
6. App Advocate for Facebook
Do your friends also have androids? If yes, then you folks might like to share your apps. And “App Advocate For Android” would do it for you. It needs to be installed on your friends phone too to make it work like a breeze. So spread the word about this app to have maximum friends sharing their apps.
7. Facebook album sync – Lite
The name says it all. The app syncs your facebook albums into your android phone’s gallery. So that you can always have offline access to your facebook albums. The app doesn’t work in background so you will have to open the app everytime you want to sync your albums. Also, there’s a full version of this app available in the market which has Tagged Picture support as well. Enjoy!
8. Facebook Photo Sync Beta -Lite
Would you like to have your pictures automatically uploaded to your facebook account? Well this app could help. It syncs with your gallery and uploads every picture you take right after you take. Use cautiously — there could be pictures that you might not like to post on facebook.
9. TuneOut
This app could be pretty rude on your facebook friends, since it tunes out and only show feeds from friends that you select. So rude on those who you don’t select. It installed and worked just fine on my phone but many users are complaining that it force closes and doesn’t open. Anyway if you have too many friends and you only like to see posts from your best friends then this app is your cup of tea.
Oh! BTW, it’s quite annoying to have it running in the background.
10. Nike Boom
It’s a very cool app. And Nike’s grace makes it even more cooler. We have reviewed it on our blog before also. So I won’t write anything but give you a link to follow — Nike Boom Android App (Click it and discover how it integrates with your facebook account)
11. Roamin’ for Facebook
Roamin’ lets friends automatically share secured wifi networks with each other. So that a good friend of yours could use your wifi network without asking you password and stuff. The app currently supports only facebook friends.
12. Flip a Coin Free! Facebook Ed.
It’s a just for fun app. You flip a coin in the app interface when you can’t make a decision out of some tangled situation. And then you share your result on facebook. That’s it. Lovely!
