A new ZTE handset bearing the model number Z851 has cleared Wi-Fi Alliance today. While its obvious that the smartphone is nearing its official launch, not much about the device is known yet.
And as usual, the Wi-Fi Alliance listing doesn’t reveal anything but the software version the smartphone is currently running on which is Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
We googled the model number of the smartphone, but that was of no use. The ZTE Grand X2 which was announced way back in 2013 had a similar model number (ZTE Z850). This could possibly be the successor of the Grand X2. But again, there’s already a smartphone with the moniker ZTE Grand X3 listed on Cricket.
So, the ZTE Z851 could be anything.

Earlier today, another leak surrounding the ZTE’s upcoming Nubia Z17 surfaced online indicating that the smartphone will pack 8GB of RAM. If true, that would make it only the second smartphone to come with such high amounts of RAM.
Word has it that it will also be launched in a 6GB RAM variant. It is expected to come with a dual camera setup at the back (23MP + 12MP). Like most of the flagships these days, the smartphone will feature minimal bezels on the front.
At the heart of the device will be a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 835 chipset. The Nubia Z17 will run Android 7.1.1. Nougat out-of-the-box and will offer support for Quick Charge 3.0.
